Devisement Video Example

We watched a devisement video today in class that was from a previous IB Theater class. The video contained a part that really caught my attention. It was 3 girls sitting in a chair and one person narrating. The people in chairs all started shaking their legs in the chair at a specific moment in the narrator’s monologue. The movement behind the narrator helped to get her point across and showed what she wasn’t saying but alluding to.m I think that this moment stuck out to me because of how powerful it was and how big of an impact movement can have in a piece of devised theater. I really enjoyed the video and it made me excited to include a lot of movement, specifically synchronized movement, in our class’s devised piece.
